Jim Woods

Director of Golf

Jim Woods, a Class “A” PGA Golf Professional, is an accomplished player and competitor with over twenty years of experience both professionally and personally. Throughout his career Jim has been privileged to be the Head Golf Professional at three other golf courses and owned and operated his own golf school. Jim is an expert in all areas of golf and has taught thousands of lessons to all ages and abilities including; Veterans in the PGA Hope Program, Special Olympic competitors and Recreation Habilitation Programs for people with disabilities. Jim twice qualified for the PGA tour event “The BC Open” in his hometown of Endicott, NY and was also a US Open medalist in a local qualifier. Playing inside the ropes on the PGA tour and narrowly missing a chance to play in the US Open are experiences he will always remember. Jim also spends ample time giving back to the golf community where he has helped raise thousands of dollars for local and national charities through his career.

Assistant golf professional, Zach Claycomb

Zach Claycomb

Assistant Golf Professional 

Zach Claycomb is an Associate PGA Golf Professional with 10 years of experience in the golf industry. He is currently enrolled in the PGA’s Professional Golf Management program to become a full PGA professional. With four years of experience in golf instruction, Zach enjoys teaching all skill levels and hosting various local clinics. Zach’s main professional focus is tournament operations. He coordinates and runs all the golf member events, group events and tournaments at the Old Course. Zach established the Bedford Springs Open in 2024, which is a marquee tournament each fall. Zach also has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pittsburgh and co-chairs the Bedford Springs History committee. When he is not on the course, he is exploring the storied past of the resort and uncovering the rich golf history of the Old Course.
